Title: The Power of Mentorship in Supply Chain

FLAHRMM and AHRMM are co-presenting a webinar focused on mentoring in the supply chain field. This panel will focus on helping young professionals and students understand what they gain from a mentor/mentee relationship and highlight the work of AHRMM and the Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC) to help make those connections. We will have an exploratory conversation between a mentor/mentee match and what they have gained through the relationship and how The University of Kansas Health System Spend Management department created an innovative mentoring program that has created success for their stakeholders.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the benefits of a mentoring relationship from both the mentor and mentee perspective
2. Explore a successful healthcare supply chain mentoring program that is driving innovation
3. Discover key strategies recommended to build out a mentoring program within your team

The panel will consist of Angie Bruns – Senior Director, Spend Management & Administration at The University of Kansas Health System, and Derrick Dickerson – Assistant Director, Spend Management Analytics at The University of Kansas Health System. The Panel will be moderated by Kevin Groarke – Senior Spend Manager at Vizient.

Angie Bruns, MHA

Ms. Bruns is responsible for building strong teams and driving operational excellence in a learning environment that accelerates value for the organization. Ms. Bruns has a robust supply chain background with a focus on change management, team building, and strategy development.

For over a decade, Ms. Bruns has worked across the supply chain continuum, partnering with medical professionals and healthcare leaders to shift from a traditional supply chain into a clinically integrated supply chain.

Derrick Dickerson

Mr. Dickerson is well versed in healthcare data and reporting needs and has a unique talent for strategizing with multi-disciplinary teams. Mr. Dickerson has more than 15-years’ experience in data intelligence and is able to quickly identify problem areas in complex data analyses and solve for them.

When he is not working, Mr. Dickerson enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and children. He also enjoys cycling, fishing, and building custom computers.
